I welcome any and all feedback and suggestions regarding Form1023.org and its content. If you are compelled to thank me for some odd reason, just click the button below and pour your heart out or better yet, consider donating a few dollars to keep this site alive for yourself and others. If you came here to read other nonprofits’ testimonials, there are hundreds of them, so browse away.
I hope that this painstaking work of several years has been useful in some way, and I truly wish you the best of luck in your humanitarian endeavor.
Thank you, Chris.
First, the monumental contribution you have established here for the benefit of nonprofit starters is staggering and inexplicably astonishing to me. For more than four years, I have been engaged exclusively in volunteer work without generating a dime of income from it. I was compelled to make the choice of not having a normal job with a salary and benefits because it left no time to fulfill the commitment to serve the phenomenal groups of people I love so much. However, the privilege of being allowed to serve and volunteer in this capacity IS the benefit. Perhaps, I should say benefits.
Thank you so much for the brain cramps I’m suffering having read every word of each chapter on your website. I just finished -Instructions For IRS Form 1023 Part X – Public Charity Status-and am now suspended in some dazed like trance from having understood NOTHING. Not a word. Zero comprehension of what I reviewed again and again. I rocketed to the heights of hysteria because frankly, my woefully inadequate intelligence level was that awful yet marvelously entertaining. Thank God I can laugh at my own mediocrity. I love that after reading and reviewing each chapter, somehow, I am dumber.
But seriously. THANK YOU for all of this information. I cannot afford lawyer fees or an accountant. Or anything else. (Another story for another time.) It may take two years for me to grasp everything and assemble the first draft of my application. Ha!!!! But I am determined to finish. If for no other reason than you making all of this information available to get it done. Okay. I think I’m done commenting. P.S. It’s not that I hate math. I hate that math has never made any sense to me. So grateful for my high school calculous teacher who honestly understand that proofs could’ve been in Chinese and I wouldn’t have noticed anything different. He passed me. I majored in Creative Writing and Theology, so you can imagine I find myself back in Mr. Chandler’s calculous class. Dazed and confused. No Mr. Chandler. But Mr. IRS. Lord, help me.
I am grateful for this site.
I am grateful for this site. To take the time to put this information together in such great detail, the donation was well worth it. Thank You so much.
I HIGHLY recommend working with Chris when applying for your Non-Profit status.
I poured over multiple documents, conversed with others, etc. regarding how to fill out the IRS forms and got nothing but more confused and still had questions. Before Chris, i worked on our non-profit documents for 3 months … all to no avail. But then when i started working with Chris, he not only makes filling out the forms understandable, but if you have any questions, he promptly returns your calls, answers your emails and explains how you need to answer the questions and why….It only took 2 weeks total time working with Chris to get all the required non-profit filing forms filled out properly. The proof that Chris’ guidance is “spot-on” came in the mail today. We received our non-profit exemption in less than 30 days…. most remarkable as our situation was not simple. But with Chris’s help, which far exceeded any other assistance, we now are legally and properly a non-profit organization. Thank you Chris!!!
I just found your site and OMG, i just want to say thanks in advance.
I so don’t want to get started, but I don’t want to pay the arm and leg that’s being charged by these companies. I just paid charity net
$1,800 only to find out after the fact that they don’t help me with the 1023, which is what i expressed, they just did me a strategic
plan. i digress !! Anyways. Just Thanks a bunch for this site ! Now, i just gotta get started, uuuugghh !
I would just like to say thank you for organizing this site and making it available to newly formed nonprofits.
I used this site to help form our nonprofit and to file our IRS tax exemption, and I know it is the reason why we got our determination letter back successfully in 90 days! Without your help, I feel I would have been at a loss because the tax application is so unbelievably overwhelming, particularly when you are a brand new nonprofit and do not have numbers or reports to base a lot of your findings on. It’s all projections. BUT thanks to your help with it, we received our exempt status, and the grant work can finally begin! Thank you, Thank you!
Your website and your direct support were absolutely key to this success!
I just wanted to let you know that our non-profit AKUN in Alaska got the determination letter from the IRS yesterday… granting us tax-exemption 501c3 status. No questions or addendum were asked.
We are very pleased and we thank you so much for your great help!
We are happy that you can add AKUN to your long list of approved non-profits!
Thank you again!
Thank you Chris for making this site.
thank you chris for making this site. I can’t seem to be able to open the pdf files. Is it a problem on the site or is at on my end.
This has been SUCH a help.
This has been SUCH a help. Thank you for creating this website.
A huge thanks from me and all the kitties!
Hi Chris,
You helped me about 7 months ago with a phone consult and I used your templates.
We were just awarded our 501(c) 3. Thank you so much for all your help, I couldn’t have done it alone, that’s for sure.
A huge thanks from me and all the kitties!
Brenda
This will save me a ton of work and will make more probable that I will actually be able to do this.
I am starting a non-profit for photographers in New Jersey and downloaded the docs for a 501c,3. I have no funding or resources except my own sweat equity.
I wanted to reach out to say thank you to you for your review and feedback on the Form 1023 for the Coalition for Safe Spaces in Lebanon.
Our application check cleared on April 27th, a receipt was sent to us on May 16th, and our determination letter was approved as of June 4th and received as of today.
It wouldn’t have been possible without your templates, review, and feedback.
Thank you,
Thank you for this website.
I’m a 75 year old guy, a USAF veteran. I wanted to start a non-profit that would help disabled vets from all branches. I would feel guilty about taking any $$$ to cover my fuel cost and any minimal expenses. I’ll just continue to thank those guys when I see them.
Maybe we can start an organization that can/will expose these “way” over paid CEO leeches.
VERY grateful for the advice on your site, your review and your suggestions on our application.
Chris, We received a call back Friday from the IRS indicating our 1023 application is approved. The IRS asked no questions. Thanks too for the advice to follow up by phone. IRS did not review the application until we called repeatedly and then not until 180 days had passed and our call prompted filing a “referral” which finally led to the application being reviewed by an agent. We give a lot of credit to the information provided on Form1023.org. We also had great help from sister schools that shared guidance from their 1023 applications. THANKS again
Chris – your site is a great resource.
I appreciate all the information you provide and how clearly and concisely the information is presented. I will be looking to make a donation in the near future. In the meantime, great work and thank you!
Best,
Thank you very much for your excellent advise.
Chris
Yesterday I received our tax exempt authorization form the IRS. I never received any request for more information.
