You have no idea (or maybe you do) how frustrating it is to try and get the big picture and start a non-profit (church). I spent months researching, and everyone I called confused me even more. I paid $1600 to Legal Zoom just for Incorporation, EIN, and By-laws and I wish I hadn’t. Knowing now that I could have done all of that for free and money aside, they just took the money and made me feel more stupid and gave me incomplete paperwork. I’ve been reading through these instructions for the past 9 hours and just wanted to say thank you for sharing this with the world. God bless you and please don’t ever take this site down.

I can honestly say that there is no better place on the internet to help guide you in this crazy process. I spent 6 months researching and filling out form 1023 to form a non-profit on my own. The donation to get the template for bylaws, conflict of interest, and articles of incorporation is the best money I have spent all year. After sending form 1023 to the IRS in early May, I received the determination letter in early August. I am so grateful for this website and the information you have put together.

My family and I have decided to help the homeless in a different way than they are are being helped. We have found that becoming a nonprofit is much confusing than we thought. However, your website has made it a lot more clearer with the steps.

I paid an accountant to do this for me last spring. All summer I have been applying for grants only to learn I have not been registered with the IRS. I had even already obtained the EIN and D&B # that I need for federal grants. After the experience, I no longer trust someone else to handle this business for me, so it was great to find this website.
