Using your templates along with a lot of original material, I prepared

the 501c3 application for SWAT, LTD (Saving Whiskers And Tails), an

animal rescue, rehab and rehoming group of volunteers in Pryor, OK. It

has only been 6 weeks, and we did not request any expedited

consideration, but already today we received our 501c3 approval in the

mail!!!! If you’d like a copy for your files of successes, I’ll send

you a copy.

I hope you are having a great week. I came across your site early last year after reading countless online info and some books on forming a nonprofit organization. It was all so daunting and uninspiring. Most authors, at least the ones I read, only skimmed the surface of what I sought. They never cut clear to the bone and explain in full detail as you have so elegantly and with a bit of humor did on your site. I managed nonetheless with what I researched to file & received my Article of Incorporation. I think it was the easiest of the lot to accomplish.

Now, the grind and misery begins with form 1023 and I am NOT taking this task on without the help of your amazing website. You explain things in layman’s term and give awesome answers, which I will borrow a few (lots) and use in my own voice as much as I can.

Saying thank you seems insufficient, so I will make a proper donation. But you only take PayPal, so I must reactivate my account. Thank you for the clarity and for your generosity. You as well as this page are awesome. Once I’ve completed my form, I would greatly appreciate it if you would, only if you have some time, to look it over. In any case, I need to get some rest. I notice that the IRS-based document provided (A Complete Guide…) is missing page 6-1. I do now know if this is very crucial, but I thought I would point that out for future revisions.

I think your website is a great source of documents for starting a nonprofit.

I’ve been using it for the last several months as I put our 1023 documents together. It has the most thorough and complete information that I have come across. I would very much like you to review our documents and would welcome your comments and suggestions. Hi Chris! This message is long overdue but I want to thank you so much for all the help you gave me in reviewing my 1040 application. It was such a daunting and complex application and I was so happy to have this web site and your assistance. I know scheduling calls between the U.S. and Africa wasn’t easy and the connection not always good but you were very patient. I am now happy to report that after about 100 days our application has been approved.

We submitted our 1023 application on January 29, 2015 and were granted our 501(c)(3) status on February 10, 2015 – an unprecedented short turn around time! We did request expedited processing, explaining that funding would not be likely absent official tax exempt status, but did not provide any corresponding letters of support from our prospective funders. We did not anticipate such a quick turn around and only learned that our application was successful when we called the IRS to ask a procedural question (well worth the 1 1/2 hour wait to get a live person). After answering our question, the IRS representative looked up our status and congratulated us. We received the confirmation letter later that day. I doubt that we would have had such immediate success without your excellent guidance. Thank you!! (P.S. We donated right after we submitted our form).
